BEING WOMEN | Contribution of women has to be celebrated every day: Allied Media's Shweta Pawar

"I'm proud to be a women," says a bubbly Shweta Pawar, when asked about what she feels about the International Women's day.

As the International Women's Day rolls out people like Shewta have been one of the stand outs who show what women can achieve anything if they set their heart to it.

Ask Shweta and she would tell you that for her Women's Day is a celebration of the spirit of womanhood, to honor the grit and determination of a woman and her contribution to society at large. It's a day to experience and enliven the women empowerment in today's age.

Shewta started her career as a Planning Executive in Group M-MindShare Fulrcum in 2003. Over the span of time, she moved on and worked with Mindhsare Fulcrum as a Planner, then as an Account Manager at Optimum Media Solutions.

Currently working as Associate Business Director, Allied Media, Shweta was determined to carve a niche for herself in this male chauvinistic world.

"No doubt that the contribution of women has to be celebrated every day. The day makes me feel special, unique in my own way and proud to be woman," she says.

"It adds to my determination to carve a niche of my own, she tells Adgully.

Inspired by her mom, who has been her pillar of strength since her child hold, Shweta is of the opinion that although things have improved drastically for women as such, but on the whole they still face a burden of the dual responsibility ' maintaining home and office.

"The biggest challenge for a woman is to find a balance between her responsibilities and fulfilling her dreams," says Shweta.

Being in the media space for more than eight years, Shweta believes that its one place where women are treated fairly and get equal opportunities of growth.

"The industry we are in is fair and gives an equal opportunity for growth to all. It rewards the performers," she says.

"The industry has fair representation of women with some even as heads of various companies. However, newer talent is always welcome and would be great to have more representation from women," she adds.

Shweta Pawar's specializes in Media Planning and Implementation and developing annual strategies. On such an auspicious day lets all respect the womanhood and the strength that she has.
