BEING WOMEN | Every women should relate herself to mother nature: SMG's Amrit Kaur

From Genetics to world history to astronomy, she is one with an all round taste. Being an avid reader also helps as she is always keen on engulfing more and more information that comes her way.

No wonder for the Starcom MediaVest Group's Director strategy, Amrit Kaur, International Women's Day would mean a day to raise awareness and not just a day to celebrate. As Adgully salutes the contributions of the women to the society, Kaur fits perfectly in the category, who in their own way have been inspirational to the fellow peers.

"I think the women's day serves a larger purpose. It is not just a day but also a day to celebrate the power of women. Looking at the present scenario of women, I feel the important thing here is to raise awareness of the fact that women today are coming up and are a par with men," she says.

"It's one of those days where we feel proud ' especially the working women as we have to balance our home and work. It speaks volumes about the women power," she adds.

And you don't have to look any further. The balance that Mother Nature maintains should be a good enough inspiration for other women, who are seeking the balance in their life.

"Look a Mother Nature ' she balances the whole system of living well and for a women the most difficult part is to find the balance. According to me every women should relate herself to Mother Nature," she explains.

Being in different paths of her career also helps her, seeing the overall growth of the women in the society. Kaur feels that the industry has equal representation of women and men ' both at a starter level and at a managerial level.

"Here in Starcom we have a adequate ratio of men and woman at every level whether its at the managerial level or at any other level ' so there not much of a difference," she says.
