Big Bang Social joins hands with Onsurity

On this World Mental Health Day, India’s largest organized creator marketplace, Big Bang Social has collaborated with Onsurity, a leading health tech platform to fill the need gap for quality healthcare and wellness services for creators on the network. With an aim to tackle the problem at its core, Big Bang Social Academy has taken the first steps toward making healthcare services more accessible to their network of creators by launching a course on tackling mental health challenges. The idea is to equip the creators and influencers with the right set of tools to tackle any health challenges, both mental and physical.

This is a pioneering step toward the holistic growth of creators who often, due to the highly demanding nature of their careers, are unable to give their health the attention it deserves. Since the creator economy remains largely unorganized, access to quality wellness, that many benefit from through their employers, is a huge challenge. Given their hectic schedules and contractual nature of employment, these issues remain largely unreported or ignored.

Onsurity,India’s 1st monthly subscription-based employee healthcare platform, will provide a complete suite of healthcare products to the creators on the Big Bang Social platform. Starting at just Rs 145 per month, membership will include teleconsultations, lab tests, discounted medicines and health & accidental insurance upto INR 3 Lacs. The creators would also be able to extend this membership for their teams, contractual & freelance workforce, family members etc. Onsurity will also run a set of special health modules sharing insights and information on topics of interest, that will be available on the Big Bang Social platform.

One of the modules will feature creator and entrepreneur Varun Duggirala along with Dr. Samir Parikh, Psychiatrist and the Director of Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare who will take creators through some key aspects of mental health including stress management with a focus on trolling, pressure of expectations and psycho education intending to share more knowledge on the early signs of mental health concerns and wellness techniques like mindfulness.

Speaking on the association, Dhruv Chitgopekar, Co-Founder Collective Artists Network, said, “In our continued focus and effort to keep the creator at the centre of the creator economy, we feel both grateful and proud of this exemplary partnership towards bringing mental health awareness and guidance for influencers and creators. We are also delighted that our colleagues in the industry have offered their support in ensuring nationwide distribution of the program.”

Kulin Shah, Co-Founder, Onsuritysaid, “We, at Onsurity, firmly believe that this partnership with Big Bang Social would bring us closer to the vision of both the brands, which is to build a culture of health amongst entrepreneurs. This is imperative to create sustainable businesses amongst the creator community. With a tech-first product approach, this partnership aims to power the healthcare & wellness needs of more than 1.5 lac+ creator communities, their teams & family members”

Dr. Samir Parikh (Director, Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcaresaid,“Close to one billion people suffer from a mental health condition in their lifetime, one out of every seven people in India. Most people suffering from such conditions don’t receive help due to the stigma and lack of awareness. Having positive conversations on mental health is therefore essential. The Modules on mental health and wellness in collaboration with Big Bang Social is a step in the right direction – to not only educate creators but also use the power of digital media to spread this message forward.”

With over 80 million content creators in India and climbing, the sector remains an unorganized space. While there is tremendous earning potential, creators, many of whom are young, miss out on the benefits of insurance and medical packages that are often provided via employers. This initiative come on the heels of the launch of BigBangSocial Academy - the ultimate digital hub of knowledge that will help Creators around India hone skills, insights, practical tips, and mentorship from leaders. It aims to empower the goals of creators and bring them to life by teaching them how to prep for the industry as a content creator in the content creation space.
