BIG FM is the radio partner for The IE 26/11 Stories of Strength

BIG FM, one of India's largest radio networks has associated with The Indian Express for the 2nd consecutive year as a radio partner for ‘Stories of Strength’ - A memorial event to mark the 26/11 anniversary. The radio station is revisiting 26/11 by celebrating stories of strength from that fateful day, across its morning and evening show. On 26th November at the memorial event to be hosted by Indian Express at Gateway of India, BIG FM will also set up a live booth where BIG MJ Dilip will connect listeners across the nation to witness the honorary celebrations.

Speaking about Stories of Strength BIG MJ Dilip said, "As we enter November, each day passes by. However, there is one date with which many horrific stories of Mumbai are related. Mumbai can never forget this date - 26/11 and this year it completes 10 years. The Indian express for the past three years has been hosting a memorial event: 'Stories of Strength' at Gateway of India where prominent personalities such as Amitabh Bachchan come together to pay their tribute. This year at the 3rd edition, BIG FM will be joining thememorial by going live from Gateway of India. I will be hosting my entire show live on 26th Nov. I would request everyone to join us in paying a tribute by sharing some meaningful and thankful messages to those brave hearts and police officers who sacrificed their lives for our safety. The messages can be shared with us on our Whatsapp number 9323927927. Some of listeners among you will go live with us on 26/11 from Gateway of India."

The radio station’s morning show for the week of 26/11 remembered the brave hearts on-air who sacrificed their lives for the safety of the nation.   The heart-rending/moving stories of Arun Jadhav, Atul Kulkarni , Anant Goenka , Rohit Deshpande , Rohit Sharma , Dhaval Waghela among others were shared each day on the network, as a salute to their absolute  strength and bravery . In the evening show, the radio station is driving listener engagement by inviting listeners to pay tribute to the martyrs in the form of thankful messages. Sixteen people among these would be selected to be a part of the on-ground memorial ceremony on 26th November.

Speaking about associating with BIG FM, Anant Goenka, Executive Director, The Indian Express said, "BIG FM is one channel that is differentiated. It has got a unique positioning which is so difficult in a medium which is as commercialized as radio.  I am very happy to partner with BIG FM. These kind of projects aren't easy and radio as an audio medium has an attention span of 15-20 secs. It requires some kind of passion and commitment towards the cause to be able to talk about it so effectively.  I am grateful to the entire BIG FM team."
