Bloomberg Media launches on Japan's Messaging App LINE

Bloomberg Media has launched an official account on LINE, providing daily news content on one of Japan's largest messenger platforms. It will include a selection of global business headlines, market news, analysis, technology coverage and features curated by Bloomberg's Japan newsroom and its Asia-based digital team. Bloomberg will publish a daily digest of top Japanese language news stories on LINE each weekday at 13:30 JST.

LINE currently has 218 million active global users and is one of Japan's most popular messaging applications.

Parry Ravindranathan, Managing Director, International, for Bloomberg Media, said: “This complements our recent revamp of our Japanese language website by delivering some of the same great content direct to our mobile users. The popularity of LINE in Japan stands out in a region where social media preferences differ enormously from country to country - therefore this is vital extension of our multi-platform capability.”

Bloomberg Media continues to broaden its audience through a variety of extended media platforms globally and in Asia, including its Asia and Japan websites, recent Twitter partnership and Bloomberg Radio's availability on Apple Music.
