Bollywood's Gen next Rana Daggubati and Ileana D'cruz now exclusive to KWAN
Rana Daggubati, grandson of one of the most successful Telugu producers, D Rama Naidu, made his Bollywood debut with Rohan Sippy's "Dum Maaro Dum' which released in April 2011. He made his Telugu cinema debut with 2010's "Leader' which recently won him the Filmfare (South) Award for Best Debut (Male). Rana's popularity in the South and in Bollywood has resulted in him working on films in both regions simultaneously. He has recently wrapped work on "Naa Ishtam' (Telugu) which co-stars Genelia D'Souza and has now moved on to Ram Gopal Varma's highly coveted project which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, "Department'. Rana's rugged good looks and affable charm have made him an instant hit with girls across the country who clearly identify him as the "man amongst the boys". In the first few months after the release of his first Hindi film, the industry as well as prestigious brands have sat up and taken notice of his already impactful appeal that manages to grab the attention of girls and women alike.
Ileana D'Cruz, who already is a superstar in Telugu cinema, is all set to set the screens ablaze with her offbeat yet highly anticipated Anurag Basu directed Barfee opposite the Gen Next superstar himself Ranbir Kapoor. Ileana's Telugu debut Devadasu earned her the Filmfare Awards for Best Actress and she was also the lead actresses in on South India's biggest hit, Puri Jagannath's Pokhri from which was remade the Bollywood hit Wanted. Ileana has already established herself in Telugu cinema and is already creating a stir in Bollywood with her highly anticipated debut with Barfee.
Talking about their latest sign ups, Anirban Das Blah, MD KWAN says, "For us at KWAN, representing two of the most promising stars, Rana Daggubati and Ileana D'cruz was an obvious decision given the impact both of these youth icons are already creating. Rana and Ileana individually have a unique appeal that are definite path-breakers in comparison to what others today offer. Having worked across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films, they appeal to a larger audience pan India and serve as options for brands looking at using younger names with a nationwide reach."
Commenting on his association with KWAN, Rana Daggubati said, "For me, it has always been important to be represented by like-minded people and I cannot think of anyone better than Anirban and his team at KWAN for this role. I have been interacting with the team at KWAN for a while and am completely in sync with their approach and look forward to a long term association with them."
Talking about signing on with KWAN, Ileana D'Cruz says, "I am happy to be associating with KWAN which is the largest agency in India. Having worked with them over time I felt like it was the right time to be represented exclusively by them more so with my Bollywood debut. I look forward to working and building a long standing relationship with them."
