Brands celebrate Janmasthami

The birth of Lord Krishna, widely believed to be Lord Vishnu’s incarnation, is celebrated as Krishna Janmasthami across India. This year Krishna Janmasthami is celebrated on 19th August and brands have taken to social media with full enthusiasm. It is also known as Gokul Ashtami as it is observed on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha. It is believed that Lord Krishna was born in a prison cell in present day Mathura, in Uttar Prasesh, at midnight, to King Vasudev and Queen Devaki.
Lord Krishna is a symbolism of everlasting love, playfulness, wisdom, compassion. He is widely revered for the pranks that he played, his wise words, ability to remain calm in stressful situations and his miraculous powers. Kansa, the brother of Devaki, believed that Krishna was born to destroy him, but before he could kill Krishna, he was out of the prison cell where Vasudeva carried him on his head in a basket and crossed the river Yamuna, to land him up in Gokul. On the occasion of Janmasthami, all across India, people observe the day by doing rituals such as decorating a deity of Lord Krishna, performing puja, lighting incense sticks, reading scriptures, preparing delicious dishes and celebrating by exchanging wishes with friends, family members, relatives, neighbours.

Brands this year have celebrated this auspicious occasion in their own unique ways. Let’s take a look at how brands celebrated Janmasthami in 2022:
