Budget 2022: Govt outlay for MIB cut by Rs 90 cr to Rs 3,980.77 crore

The annual outlay for the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) in the Union Budget for 2022-23 sees a cut of Rs 90 crore to Rs 3,980.77 crore from last year’s Budget.

Among all the autonomous bodies of MIB, Press Council of India is the only one to see an increase in its budget outlay to Rs 27 crore for FY2023, from Rs 20 crore for FY2022.

The budget outlay for Prasar Bharati for FY2023 stands at Rs 2,555.29 crore, a decline from Rs 2,640.11 crore in FY 2022.

Information & Publicity, which includes Bureau of Outreach and Communication, Press Information Bureau (PIB), Publications Division, and Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), among others, has been allocated Rs 942.04 crore for FY2023, which is a decline from Rs 971.26 crore in FY2022.
