Cannes Lions 2012: Clinton stresses on the importance of Humanity and Sustainable Growth

The 59th Cannes Festival took everyone by surprise when former United States President Bill Clinton graced the occasion. Bill Clinton who spends most of his time in social work attended the International festival of Creativity and spoke about the need for citizens of the world to come together and work in a better manner. He stressed on the importance of harmony vs. conflict in today’s world.
 
Clinton exclaimed that people needed to come together not on social networking websites but they needed to participate in politics and play an active role in society. He spoke about how there is an increasing need to learn the art of sharing responsibilities.
 
“Rich countries can help poor countries and together, countries can find solutions to help each other,” asserted Clinton.
 
Talking about the economic instabilities groping the world, he said that while a little instability is good for normal life, too much of it hampers growth. He cited the example of Greece which is going through a grave economic crisis.
 
Bill Clinton supported the idea of immigration as he believes that free flow of people would lead to collaboration of work forces.
 
He also urged that every country should have good access to the internet and that the government should set funds aside to help medium scale business to flourish, which would help in minimizing conflicts.
 
Talking about the advertising industry, he said that it needs to come up with new ideas that would unify people.
