Cannes Lions 2017: 19 shortlists for India on Day 4

Shortlists for Design, Entertainment, Entertainment Lions for Music, Media and Product Design categories have been announced at the ongoing 64th Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity today. India has secured 10 shortlists in Design, while in Media and Product Design categories, Indian entries have bagged four shortlists each. Entertainment category has one shortlisted entry from India. Meanwhile, no Indian entry made it to the shortlist for Entertainment Lions for Music. 

A total of 278 entries have been shortlisted in Design Lions. Leo Burnett India’s work for HP Lubricants – ‘Roads That Honk’ – has bagged the agency three shortlists under sub-categories of Promotional Item Design, Digital Installation & Events, and Non Commercial Exhibition & Experiences. Taproot India’s ‘Adidas Odds campaign’ has been shortlisted in Special Editions & Promotional Packaging sub category; McCann Worldgroup India’s campaign, titled ‘World for All’, for World For All Animal Care and Adoption has been shortlisted in the Poster sub category. ‘Bhagwan Bharose - At God’s Mercy’ campaign by Rediffusion Y&R done for Nakshatra Welfare Society has made it to the shortlist in the Promotional Item Design sub category, while TBWAIndia’s work done for Zoobar, titled ‘Pet Friendly Bar-Beagle’, has been shortlisted in the Posters sub category. O&M India has secured two shortlists for the ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ campaign conceptualised for ITC’s Savlon and ‘100 Pipers Guitar Series’ for Pernod Ricard India under Promotional Item Design and Illustrations sub categories, respectively. 

Mindshare Mumbai’s ‘Dove Change The Rhyme’ campaign done for Hindustan Unilever’s Dove is the lone Indian entry shortlisted in Entertainment Lions. 

The Grand Prix winning ‘Immunity Charm’ campaign done by McCann Worldgroup India for the Afghan Ministry of Public Health and O&M India’s ‘Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks’ have been shortlisted in Product Design in the Solution and Social Impact sub categories. 

BBDO India’s ‘#ReleaseThePressure’ campaign for Mirinda has been shortlisted in Media Lions (Sub category - Food and Drinks). McCann Worldgroup India has secured two shortlists in the media category – one for ‘Immunity Charm’ campaign (Sub category - Use of Ambient Media: Small Scale) and the other for ‘Paytm Sweet Change’ (Sub category - Financial Product and Services). Mindshare Mumbai/ O&M Mumbai’s work for Star Plus, titled ‘Nayi Soch: New Thinking’ , has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Media Planning sub category.
