Cannes Lions Day 1: India secures 9 more shortlists, tally goes up to 28

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2018 got underway today. Day 1 of the Festival saw shortlists being announced for Design Lions, Mobile Lions, Outdoor Lions, Radio & Audio Lions, and Print & Publishing Lions. A total of 9 shortlists have been secured by agencies from India on Day 1. This is in addition to the 19 shortlists secured by Indian agencies declared earlier. 

In Outdoor Lions, Indian agencies have secured 4 shortlists, with Creativeland Asia having four shortlisted entries for – the Madhuhbani, Pattachitra and Warli campaigns done for Mercedes Benz India. Grey India has secured a shortlist for its work titled The Health Purse (Sehat Ka Batua) done for Mahindra Rise, which deals with self examination for breast cancer. 

In Design Lions, Indian agencies have secured two shortlists. TBWAIndia’s campaign, titled Blink to Speak, done for Asha Ek Hope Foundation has been shortlisted. Ogilvy India, too, has secured a shortlist for the Ibsen - The Drama of Good Trumping Evil campaign done for Surnai. 

India has secured two shortlists in Print & Publishing Lions as well. TBWAIndia’s Blink to Speak campaign has been shortlisted in this category as well. The Five Status Words campaign done for Harpic has fetched McCann India a shortlist. 

In Mobile Lions, India’s sole shortlisted entry is from Ogilvy India for its campaign done for Vodafone Sakhi.
