Cannes Lions: India bags shortlists in Outdoor, Design, PR, Product Design

Apart from Creative Effectiveness, shortlists for Outdoor, Design, PR, Product Design and Digital Craft have been announced on June 20 at the 63rd Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. Barring Digital Craft, India has secured a total of 13 shortlists in Outdoor, Design, PR, and Product Design.

Outdoor Lions

Indian agencies have secured 5 shortlists in Outdoor category. DDB Mudra Group has won 2 shortlists. The first is for the work titled ‘Keep the Traffic Out’ done for Sennheiser. The second shortlist is for Adidas for the campaign titled ‘Made for Cricket 3’.

Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai has also secured 2 shortlists – both for School of Life – for the works titled ‘Uncle’s Fist’ and ‘Driver’s Finger’.

Rediffusion Y&R’s work done for Tata Motor’s, called ‘Dipper Condom’, has also been shortlisted on Outdoor. Incidentally, this campaign has already won a Bronze Lion in Health & Wellness this year.

PR Lions

In PR, Indian agencies have secured four shortlists. Ogilvy & Mather’s social campaign, ‘Beauty Tips By Reshma’, done for NGO Make Love Not Scars, has been shortlisted in PR.

Weber Shandwick’s campaign – ‘Daughters of Mother India’ – for Responsible Films has secured a shortlist.

‘The Light Bag’ campaign done for the NGO Salaam Baalak Trust has fetched a shortlist for Cheil Worldwide in PR.

Leo Burnett’s campaign for Bajaj V, the bike made from the metal of the decommissioned warship INS Vikrant, has also been shortlisted in PR.

Design Lions

In Design, Indian agencies have managed three shortlists. McCann Worldgroup India has secured shortlists in two separate sub-categories for the campaign titled ‘The Dancing Letters’ done for the Maharashtra Dyslexia Association.

J. Walter Thompson has bagged a shortlist for the work titled ‘Blood Banking’ done for the Indian Red Cross Society.

Product Design

McCann Worldgroup India is the sole shortlisted agency from India in Product Design. The agency’s campaign titled ‘The Dancing Letters’ done for the Maharashtra Dyslexia Association, has secured the shortlist.
