CannesDo: Cannes Lions 2021 concludes; India takes home 22 Lions
The Cannes Lions 2021 virtual award ceremony concluded on 25 June. Indian agencies were awarded 22 Lions – including 2 Gold, 9 Silver, and 11 Bronze Lions.
FCB Group India was the most awarded agency group taking home 8 Lions (1 Gold, 3 Silver, 4 Bronze). FCB Interface took home a prestigious Gold Lion for the Punishing Signal campaign executed for Mumbai Police. Other wining work included FCB Ulka’s Times’ Out & Proud (The Times of India).
Dentsu Webchutney was the most awarded agency taking home 7 (4 Silver 3 Bronze) Lions. It was the only agency to take home a Digital Craft Lion for The 8 Bit Journo (Vice Media). Other winning work included The Better Half Recipes (Swiggy) and the World’s Most Reported Trailer’ campaign (Thappad).
DDB Mudra took home a Gold Lion for 'Project Free Period' in Creative Strategy.
Low Lintas took home 2 Bronze Lions for Lifebuoy 'H for Handwashing' campaign. It was the only agency that won under Media Lions.
VMLY&R Commerce (Geometry Encompass) took home a Bronze Lion for 'Hackwashing' campaign (Lifebuoy).
Cheil India took home a Silver Lion for ‘Now, Words Aren't Just Heard’ campaign (Samsung).
Ogilvy India took home a Silver and Bronze Lion for Dove’s '#StopTheBeautyTest' and Mondelez India’s '#NotJustACadburyAd'.
No Indian agencies were awarded a Grand Prix this year.
