Celebrated annually on August 8, this event is dedicated to raising awareness about these beautiful animals. This year, Cartoon Network in India and around the globe has a slew of activities and special programming planned. Cartoon Network will be completely transformed into Cat-Toon Network – home of Tom!

Make Your Felines Famous!

Get in the mood for a paw-some celebration with some fun activities on Cartoon Network’s Facebook page with the #CatToonNetworkChallenge:

• Partake in the fun with Cat-Toon Network’s memes, riddles, jokes and a lot more engaging digital content! Simultaneously get to know about more about cats, feline traits and ways to care for them. Join in-house cats Tom and Sylvester to encourage and spread the message - ‘Adopt Don’t Shop’!
• Participate in the #CatToonNetworkChallenge contest and share your beloved cat’s cheekiest and coolest photos, whether they are dressed up as a diva or funny videos of them dancing to the Cat-Toon Network theme song! Watch the video here!

Witness the iconic cat and mouse chase

Cuddle up with your cat for some quality time, as Cat-Toon Network lines up a non-stop cat-stravaganza of the most loved superstar cat Tom as he continues his quest to catch Jerry, the mouse. On August 8, Tom will shine in the spotlight he so rightly deserves – watch him in back-to-back and all new episodes of ‘The Tom and Jerry Show’ from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm only on Cat-Toon Network.

Show your Kindness to Kitties in Need

There are always cats in need of a home so if you’re looking for a new member of the family, do remember adopting from an animal shelter or cat rescue organisation like Feline Club of India. Check out their official Facebook page as they get in on the International Cat Day action and host an interesting virtual cat show on August 8.

To spread the love amongst proud cat parents and animal enthusiasts, Cartoon Network has partnered with Cat Café Studio and Curious Cat Company for cat merchandise to further raise awareness on International Cat Day through celebrity cat parents.
