CEAT and Elsys Intelligent Devices join hands to make driving safe

To propagate awareness on the need of road safety and emergency services in India, CEAT Tyres has launched a digital campaign which aims at making driving a safer experience. With this campaign CEAT focuses on the urgent needs of road safety in India and the period of ‘golden hour’, where there is an urgent and prompt requirement of a medical and surgical treatment right after a traumatic incident. The tyre manufacturer has associated with Elsys Intelligent Devices to provide their safety device called Raksha Safe Drive along with the tyre products. The initiative will play a pivotal role in reducing accident fatalities, by providing automotive safety and emergency assistance on Indian roads.

Raksha Safe Drive comprises of emergency features that focus on car safety and stability. In an unfortunate case of an accident, the In-vehicle Emergency Call (eCall) feature sends automatic alert and shares the location with your loved ones. Another interesting feature is the One Touch Assistance Call that will provide the driver and the passenger’s medical assistance and police assistance in case of hostile situations. The device also provides the unique feature of Pinpoint Roadside Assistance which is a one touch access to the mechanics nearby, to the location of vehicle breakdown.

Commenting on the association, Mr. Nitish Bajaj, SVP - Marketing, CEAT Ltd. said, “A staggering number of road accidents highlight the importance of an effective emergency assistance system on Indian roads, especially so that assistance can be made available in a short span of time. With the Raksha Safe Drive, people will get a safety device in their vehicle that could provide vital and timely help in case of an emergency. Our purpose at CEAT is to make mobility safer and smarter and this association with “Raksha Safe Drive” is yet another milestone in achieving that purpose.”

As a responsible organization CEAT has launched several initiatives in past to promote road safety such as tie-up with Party Hard Drivers (PHD), a Mumbai and Pune-based chauffeur’s service to reduce road catastrophes and drunk-drive cases also with Mumbai Police to Install Breath Analyzer across Mumbai. CEAT also tied-up with the kid’s edutainment chain KidZania, engaging more than 500 children in Mumbai across the age group of 5-10 years, the campaign aimed at educating these kids in the nuances of safe driving in a fun way. Kids were encouraged to pass on road safety messages to their parents leading to a significant impact.
