Celio pushes boundaries with their new pledge!

Pride Month is commemorated in June of every year as it celebrates the accomplishments and tribulations of the LGBTQ+ community throughout history. French menswear brand Celio believes that love should be celebrated in all its glory in all seasons through the year. This Pride month, Celio took to social media pledging to be an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community by collaborating with this community beyond just the month of June but empowering them throughout the year.

The brand kickstarted their pledge with their first campaign, #WearYourPride, starring members of the LGBTQIA+ community. #WearYourPride helped highlight that while a rainbow flag, symbolic of the entire community exists, it’s not enough to capture the diversity of the various identities in the queer community, specially when each of them have their own flag. That’s where Celio comes in – they collaborated with queer content creators, who celebrated their unique identity by recreating the flag of their identity, with their Celio look.

Celio collaborated with Angelique and Jay Anand, proud influencers of the LGBTQ+ community.

Feeling a sense of belongingness, influencer Jay Anand said, “It's not easy to be your true self when you're a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. The struggles that surrounds our self and our identity are never-ending. Sure, we have the rainbow #PrideFlag that represents the whole community (and the new one, for which there's no emoji yet but is even more inclusive). But, did you know there's a trans flag? It's this flag that made me feel represented, like I had a community I can fall back on. Celio is doing their bit to be inclusive and to help every person in the community be themselves. To wear your colours, to #WearYourPride".

Angelique, another influencer who was excited to be part of this campaign, says, “As much as I love the colours of the rainbow, there’s more to my identity that I want to be specific about sometimes. As a (self-proclaimed) Style Icon™ï¸, I'm indulging in some flagcore with Celio, by wearing the colours of the lesbian and non-binary flags.”

Speaking on the campaign carried out, Satyen Momaya - CEO India - Celio, said, “We aim to create a better future and an inclusive environment that enables fair access for each of us. This is just the start of our efforts at Celio to foster the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies through our campaigns, to slowly but surely drive change, in a positive direction.”
