Champions Tennis League to broadcast in USA via Tennis Channel

Champions Tennis League announced a major broadcasting coup, an exclusive tie-up with one of America’s largest sports-oriented digital cable and satellite television networks, Tennis Channel. Tennis Channel will broadcast all Champions Tennis League matches from November 17th to November 26th 2014, to 35 million Tennis Channel homes across the United States.

With live tournaments, one-on-one interviews, game analysis and skills instruction, Tennis Channel is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis. The network goes beyond the courtside seats to give viewers an all-access tournament pass, with inside looks, behind-the-scenes coverage and a never-before-seen television perspective.

Speaking on the tie-up, David Egdes, Senior Vice PresidentTIR, Tennis Channel said, “We look forward to highlighting the exciting team competition from the six cities across India, as well as seeing the current and former stars on each team, and the young Indian players who will be possible future stars on the ATP tour. We are also excited to introduce our audience to some of the extraordinary personalities and rich history emanating from the various CTL cities. We look forward to working together on this remarkable project.”

Arjun Rao, CEO, Second Serve Pvt. Ltd. shared, “This is the first time an Indian tennis event of this scale and size will be broadcast, with minimal delay, to the large tennis diaspora across the United States. This is a huge step forward for the Champions Tennis League in our bid to become a globally watched League with some of the most competitive players in the world in our fold. We are thrilled to be working with Tennis Channel and we are sure we will benefit from their expertise and experience in the world of tennis.”

As an advocate and cheerleader for the sport, Tennis Channel is the hub of "Tennis Nation," connecting a network of diverse fans across the USA through the sport's players, athleticism, training and competition. In bringing the game's passionate adherents together, Tennis Channel recognizes that tennis is more than a competition: it is a lifestyle, an ever-unfolding story with compelling narratives, personal struggles, heroic journeys and epic rivalries. Champions Tennis League’s partnership with Tennis Channel finds synergy across these very beliefs and what the League has set out to do for tennis in India at a grassroots level.
