Charcoal Eats partners with Blue Tribe to launch India’s First Plant-based Chicken Biryani

Charcoal Eats, a full-stack quick service restaurant (QSR) brand has partnered with Blue Tribe Foods, a new food startup in the plant-based-meat arena to introduce India’s first Vegan Chicken Biryani.

Vegan Chicken Biryani, this is neither a typographical error, nor an oxymoron but 100% Vegan (plant-based) Chicken Biryani. This is aimed at discerning consumers who love the taste of meat, but want to consciously cut down on their meat consumption for ethical, religious, environmental or health reasons. The offering is also to encourage vegetarians and vegans to experience the taste and texture of non-vegetarian food, without having to eat an animal. Further, given the fact that the majority of people who eat plant-based meats worldwide are not vegans or vegetarians, this Biryani allows omnivores who want diversity in their diet with vegan options without compromising the taste or the texture of non-vegetarian food.

This exquisitely flavored biryani has the taste, texture, mouthfeel, and bite of a “real” chicken - and resolves the age-old question of whether a biryani can be vegetarian with a resounding “Yes”!

Elaborating further on this launch, Anurag Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer, Charcoal Eats said, “We are thrilled to finally introduce the India’s First Plant-based Chicken Biryani for our patrons. We are extremely confident about our latest offering; As Plant-based ingredients are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants Research also suggests that they may help prevent various health issues, such as hypertension and cardiovascular diseases - all without compromising on the taste and the experience of non-vegetarian food. Plant-based meat could also be a sustainable answer to global food security and addressing environmental concerns with respect to raising animals for consumption. In short, plant-based meat is an idea whose time has come, and is here to stay”.

Commenting on the partnership, Nikki Singh Co-founder Blue Tribe Food said, “We at BlueTribe believe that the meat-eater is aware of the environmental impact their choice has and is in search of much more environmental friendly food source for his/her protein and taste cravings. We are creating plant-based meat for the thinking meat-eater, collaboration with Charcoal eats is part of our mission to transform the food chain towards a sustainable choice. Charcoal eats has been a very receptive partner and we look forward to build on this. We believe we have a winner as a pioneer of plant-based meat with the amazing “ Plant-based Chicken Biryani”.
