‘Colours of Braj’ - the first folk album with Dolby Atmos sound

Hungama Artist Aloud, a platform that supports and promotes independent content, has launched ‘Colours of Braj’, the first folk album in the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos. Created and produced by Anahad Foundation, an NGO that promotes, supports and empowers folk artists, the ten-track folk album, has its roots in Braj region of Uttar Pradesh and reflects the culture of folk artists there. To maintain the authenticity of folk music, these tracks were recorded in the artists’ natural settings that brings out the rustic appeal of these songs. This album weaves together unique sounds of the Braj region with meaningful lyrics that are sure to make a lasting impression on the listeners.

Fans will now be able to experience folk music like never before. With the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos, they will feel like they are inside the song, to feel it without limitations. The album is available in Dolby Atmos on Hungama Music and can be enjoyed through compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled mobile devices.

Speaking about the association, Soumini Sridhara Paul, Senior Vice President, Hungama Artist Aloud said, “Hungama Artist Aloud has always believed in supporting independent artists by providing them the opportunity to showcase their talent on a global level and reach out to as wide an audience as possible. It is not only a platform for independent artists, but also a community for creative minds that contribute to the independent music scenario in the country, in their own unique ways. Through this association, we look forward to not only supporting folk artists but also making their music available to our audience using the best possible technology that enhances their listening experience.”

Commenting on this initiative, Shuchi Roy Managing Director at Anahad Foundation stated, “The objective of this album and journey was to shed the spotlight on the colors of Uttar Pradesh, showcasing the culture of the state. Till date, no one has recorded the folk music of Uttar Pradesh quite like we have. Therefore, I left with Abhinav Agrawal, who himself is a folk artist and has a knack to record folk musicians across the country on this amazing journey. This trip was a little special as we were introducing the artists with the new technology of Dolby Atmos. It was truly an enriching experience.”
