Creating Television History: Times Now-Russia Today Joint Show From Moscow

International news development from an Indian perspective, jointly produced by two of worlds most popular and credible news organisations. For the first time Indian television viewers will get a perspective never seen before, India’s number one news network Times Now and Russia Today join hands for a special edition of The News Hour from Moscow.

Russia’s entry into the Syrian conflict, has made it the worlds most volatile region, with the possibility of further escalation looming large.
Arnab Goswami, India’s most popular news anchor On his show The News Hour, in a special Moscow edition, looks at international fallout of Putin’s entry into Syria and its global consequences.
On the panel, a high profile guest list including PETER LAVELLE (Host – CrossTalk), Rocky Anderson (American Politician & Attorney), Peter Kuznick (Director, Nuclear Studies Institute at American University) and Vadim Kozyulin (Senior Researcher - PIR Center).

Speaking about this first in Indian news television, Arnab Goswami, President – News, Times NOW & ET NOW, said, “The whole world has been talking about the Islamic State, but largely, the conversation has been led by  what America thinks of what’s happening in Syria. Newshour travelled to Moscow from where, for the first time, with Russia Today, this Sunday, it will bring viewers a joint show where for the first time they will hear a different perspective: Why has Putin got involved in Syria? And what are the global consequences?”

For the first time in 20 years, it appears it’s longer is a unipolar world. As Russia get involved in the Middle East, it appears to be heading more and more to a multi-polar world instead. Goswami says, “In light of these developments, the Newshour-RT special will also discuss whether there is an opportunity in a multi-polar world to restore the balance -- not just in global power equations, but in how the media reports on global conflicts. The discussion also makes us reflect whether the media balance can also be restored, and whether the time to do that is now.”
