CRY Corporate Responsibility Summit's last leg to be held in Delhi

After successfully guiding companies in chalking out meaningful and sustained corporate social responsibility strategies in Bangalore and Mumbai, the CRY Corporate Responsibility Summit  (CCRS) will move to Delhi in its final leg on the 13th of February. With its 4th edition this year, the annual summit creates a forum for corporate leadership to discuss ways to address the challenges in developing a long term corporate responsibility and business sustainability strategy and understand impact measurement and reporting.

While the other cities witnessed experts conduct Masterclass programs, the finale in Delhi will be an amalgamation of Masterclass and panel discussion on achieving sustainability through CSR. The Delhi Summit will end with the CRY Child Rights Champions awards which will felicitate companies that have demonstrated their commitment to children.

The Masterclass in Delhi, the third after Bangalore and Mumbai, will be facilitated by the team from the Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore including Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, and their COO Mr. Manoj Chakravarti.

The working “Masterclass” session will focus on looking at the challenges in interpreting the current CSR guidelines, formulating and implementing strategies and what should be the typical characteristic of CSR partnerships.

The Masterclass will be followed by a panel discussion on ‘Seeding Sustainability’ in business strategy and operations, with Corporate bigwigs like Mr. Shankar Venkateswaran- Chief, Tata Sustainability Group, Ms. Namrata Rana- Director, Futurescape and Ms. Maneesha Chadha- Head - Corporate Citizenship at Citibank India.

Anita Bala Sharad, Director, Resource Generation, CRY – Child Rights and You said, “Working in the Child Rights space for more than three decades we have seen the evolution of CSR and Corporates passionately supporting varied social causes and issues. With the Corporate Responsibility Summit we hope to provide insights to companies to look beyond the traditional lens of philanthropy and develop CSR strategies with potential for large scale social and economic impact, intrinsically incorporated in their business strategy.”

She added, “We are also looking at discussing children as a stakeholder in sustainability, hence recognizing companies who have ensured that their business policies and practices include children as an integral stakeholder.  We have been fortunate to get experts like the team from Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (IIM B), Ms. Namrata Rana, Ms. Maneesha Chadha and Mr. Shankar Venkateswaran to be a part of the summit in Delhi.”

Speaking about the summit, Namrata Rana- Director, Futurescape said, “Corporate Responsibility is slowly moving towards a social investment strategy that creates value for both businesses and society. It is imperative now for organisations to not just focus on compliance with respect to the CSR Bill, but also integrate it into their DNA, with CSR being a key element of their business strategy and aimed at a long term impact. The CRY Corporate Responsibility Summit (CCRS) will thus provide a deeper and holistic understanding of CSR in Indian context and to highlight that CSR implementation is about building relationships between diverse stakeholders who work together to achieve the goal of business and social transformation.”
