Dame Essentials Raises First Round of External Funding from GetVantage

Dame Essentials is the first Indian brand to introduce silk accessories with the idea to promote better sleep. The brand has grown phenomenally over the past 5 years.

The funding will be deployed towards expanding its footprint and broadening its product offering

Dame Essentials has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Getvantage as part of its first external round of funding. The brand founded by Armaan Mann, was completely bootstrapped until now.

The brand is committed to using the funds to increase its market share, inventory, and double-down on marketing to fuel growth.

“The last five years have been a very exciting time in the beauty industry. As an individual, it is possible to create your brand, launch your skincare line and be in the same space as international brands, provided you put in the hard work. The Indian consumer is fast-becoming discerning -  educated, informed, and quality conscious. Customers are now focussed on what goes inside the products they use and this is giving home-grown brands a unique opportunity,” says Armaan Mann, Founder of Dame Essentials. “GetVantage has proven to be an incredible partner that empowers me to supercharge growth on my terms. Their unique performance based financing model is founder-friendly and just what we need.”

Bhavik Vasa, Founder & CEO, GetVantage says: “We’re excited to support young, passionate women entrepreneurs like Armaan and her team at Dame Essentials. After bootstrapping her business for years, she’s ready to take the next step and we’re thrilled to support her growth journey and ensure that she continues to retain ownership and control in the future direction of her business.”

Armaan Maan, Founder Dame Essentials has a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA in Marketing, skills she is using to build her own empire. She has been a keen researcher of Beauty brands and everything related to home and interiors.

Dame Essentials was born from her love of sleep and her never ending strife for flawless hair and skin. She saw how all celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Gisele Bundchen, Rosie Huntington Whiteley sleep on silk and it was her desire to bring that experience to everyone that gave rise to her very own brand – Dame Essentials, making her one of the first to introduce silk accessories as part of a modern haircare and skincare regimen.

Armaan started the brand with just 2SKU’s – pillow-cases and eye-masks in two colours; however, her passion for innovation allowed her to introduce a number of new silk products. The brand has already won one Vogue beauty award and has been recognized by the leading lifestyle media for its high-quality products.

The brand is focused on bringing in quality pure silk products at an affordable price to more people and working with GetVantage as a long-term growth partner is an exciting step towards that goal.

As the leading revenue-based financing fintech platform in India, GetVantage has made over 150 investments in over 75+ digital-first brands across sectors and is committed to supporting made-in-India brands like Dame Essentials. The company is on track to fund 250+ brands in the next 12 months.
