DD Free Dish to start MPEG-4 stream with 24 channels in April 2016

DD Free Dish (DD Direct Plus) is gearing up to start its MPEG-4 stream with 24 channels in April 2016. DD Free Dish will use the conditional access system (CAS) designed by Bangalore-based firm ByDesign India.

The addition of MPEG-4 stream in DD Free Dish’s service will bring more channels and more value added services.

The MPEG-4 set top boxes will be sold through authorised distributors and will be available in the market from April or May.

As per media reports, the migration to MPEG-4 stream will be in two phases following which the total capacity is expected to go up to 112 channels.
