Dentsu launched a compendium on social media "Dentsu Social Media Handbook'

Integrated communications agency, Dentsu India launched the "Dentsu Social Media Handbook' at a close knit get-together attended by clients, close friends and well-wishers. The Handbook was launched by Gurdeep Singh, COO, Aircel and Yuzuru Kato, Head, Global Business Management, Dentsu Inc. Also present at the launch were Sandeep Goyal, Chairman, Dentsu India, Rajesh Aggarwal, President, Dentsu India and Krishna Prasad, Chief Experience Officer, Dentsu Digital.

Compiled by the team at Dentsu Digital, the "Dentsu Social Media Handbook' is essentially a compendium on social media. It elaborates on various components of social media, demystifying certain myths associated with it while showcasing how some social media plans were executed along with market examples and case studies. The Handbook is sponsored by Aircel's knowledge management campus Aircel Academy.

Speaking at the release of the Handbook, Gurdeep Singh, COO, Aircel said, "As an innovator-pioneer brand, we at Aircel have always believed in not only embracing change, but also leading it. However this requires the constant curiosity of a child and the dedication of a pupil before one can imbibe new ideas or mould oneself to respond to new stimuli. The ignition of social media forces is fairly recent. It requires understanding and appreciation. Our sponsorship of the Dentsu Social Media Handbook is a first step that direction."

Commenting on the Handbook, Sandeep Goyal, Chairman, Dentsu India said, "This Handbook is meant to be a ready primer for those new to social media; which to be honest, most of us are. Social media are about the new "E's of brand health: empathy, enthusiasm, engagement and endearment. Well used, it can produce a seismographic effect. Learning new jargon, imbibing new trends and understanding change is part of every marketer's journey closer to the consumer's heart. We hope this compilation by the Dentsu team helps them do just that!"

Added Krishna Prasad, Chief Experience Officer, Dentsu Digital, "This has been a wonderful experience, putting together the Handbook. Those of us who know something about this medium really do not sit down and pen our thoughts together for others to imbibe and learn. For my team, putting together the Handbook has itself been a lot learning and sharing."

Dentsu India has been very active in the digital domain. Over the last few months, the Group announced the launch of three mobile advertising agencies Mobimost, Softcell and Incelligence, followed by wwwow, a specialist unit for mobile design and applications.

The "Dentsu Social Media Handbook' is a primer for working professionals across functions in organizations that want to target social media. But, more importantly the Handbook will reach out to students in management institutes, providing them with basic insights on this emerging new field. The book includes interesting global examples from brands like Coca-Cola, Dell, SAP and Uniqlo among others while Indian examples from Aircel, Cadbury and Indian Fantasy League have also been featured.

Sponsored by Aircel Academy, the "Dentsu Social Media Handbook' has been published by Popular Prakashan. Priced attractively at INR 99/- it will soon be available across leading bookstores in the country.
