MEC has announced that logistics company DHL has awarded their European business to MEC. The agency has been responsible for the DHL business in all other markets for over a decade.

The new global account will be led from MEC Global Solutions in Dusseldorf.

Commenting on the appointment, Alastair Aird, Global COO and Chairman for EMEA, MEC, said, “We are delighted to have been selected by DHL in Europe. With this expansion of our relationship we look forward to driving real business growth for the company, across all areas of their communication.”

Dirk Ude, Head of Global Advertising, DHL, added, “MEC is an established and long-standing partner of DHL and a most trusted advisor on effective brand communications globally. The agency has proven their expertise at a very high level continuously for many years and we hope to leverage their strength in quality and quantity by reinforcing our partnership.”

Arjan Sissing, Senior Vice President Corporate Brand Marketing, DHL, said, “By consolidating our media investment with one agency, we’ll be able to better optimize the planning, steering and monitoring process as well as improve the buying conditions. All media channels will be affected; TV, print, radio, outdoor and digital.”

The move follows after a media review covering 28 markets in EMEA.
