DHL gets 'Custom House Agent of the Year' award

DHL, the world's leading logistics company received the "Custom House Agent of the Year" award at the Maritime & Logistics Awards 2010. The Award was received by Snehal Parekh, Chairman, DHL Lemuir Logistics Pvt. Ltd. at the Taj President, Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Christoph Remund, CEO, DHL Lemuir Logistics Pvt. DHL has been providing customs clearance services for over a decade in India. This award is a reflection of DHL's business approach and a validation of its position as the leading customs brokerage company in India . Besides customs clearance and transportation, DHL also offers value added services which include consultations, drawbacks, refunds, valuation orders and appeals.

DHL's Strategy 2015 is to strive for quality, excellence in customer service and a sustained market growth. The company recently announced an investment of USD10 million by its freight forwarding division to establish a logistics and warehousing facility in the upcoming Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) in Tamil Nadu. DHL Global Forwarding will be the first global logistics company to operate a facility within the FTWZ that offers customers the benefits of a duty free zone with high quality infrastructure.

The Maritime and Logistics Awards (MALA) 2010 acknowledge excellence in all-India maritime and logistics sectors. The winners were chosen by an experienced and professional jury chaired by DT Joseph, former shipping secretary.
