Dhruv Sangari Takes the Stage on #WeekendLive with Zoom TV

Riding on the success of past weekends, Zoom TV and Oaksmith® Gold Glasses bring #WeekendLive this Sunday, featuring eminent Sufi and Classical Indian vocalist Dhruv Sangari.

#WeekendLive is a collaborative effort between the leading entertainment channel Zoom TV, and new to India’s very happening music and performances scene, Oaksmith® Gold Glasses (@OaksmithGoldIndia on Facebook & Instagram). As many live shows cancel, platforms like #WeekendLive are pioneering efforts to build a work-from-home culture for the artists, and giving roots to an emerging format for live music with #StayHome – House Concerts.

#WeekendLive leverages the “Live” feature of popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, as some of India’s top talents perform from the safety of their homes, straight to that of their audiences.

This week’s artist also known as Bilal Chishty Sangari is best known as the ‘Prince of Qawwali’. Dhruv is also academically qualified in Sufism and believes in preserving the Sufi culture for posterity. He began training in Hindustani classical music and tabla at a very young age and was only seven years old when he started his musical journey under various maestros. The musician eventually found his home and solace in Sufism. He then began training in Qawwali and since then has been winning millions of hearts and accolades with his soulful Qawwalis.

Dhruv has been a part of numerous prestigious stage concerts and music festivals where he has also collaborated with international artists, in order to spread the mystique of Sufi music. Along with this, he has also recorded for various albums, films and solo projects. Synonymous with fusion of sufism and Qawwali, Dhruv is set to take stage this weekend where he will bring in soulful sufi divinity through his music to your home screens.

Going by the response to last few editions, #WeekendLive has been a hit, with over 12 million viewers watching the riveting performances - by Indian Ocean, India's most celebrated and iconic rock band, Deveshi Sahgal, the very talented sufi singer, the iconic Rajasthani folk musician and internationally renowned, Kutle Khan Project, the very versatile singer songwriter Jasleen Aulakh , the leading Indie-Rock Band Faridkot and Legendary rock band Parikrama.
