Discord to roll out AI-powered chatbot, messaging features

In an effort to build generative AI tools, chat app Discord is going to introduce new features that can summarise long conversations and decorate user avatars.
Using OpenAI technology, Discord will revamp a bot called Clyde, which lets users chat by text, video, and voice. According to the reports, Clyde-powered AI can provide answers to trivia questions, help schedule meetings or suggest playlists.
With the help of generative image models, users will be able to "remix" their friends' avatars. An AI tool will be able to summarise the dialogue if users have been away from Discord and have missed a stream of messages, allowing users to rapidly return to certain points in the message thread to catch up on the chat. According to the company, the feature will start to roll out in a few select Discord groups the following week.
In order to enhance a current content moderation tool that helps automatically reject damaging or undesired communications from a Discord discussion, Discord announced it will also explore with OpenAI technology. According to the firm, the updated technology can flag communications for moderators and comprehend the context of the dialogue.
