Discovery gets 16 Emmy nominations at Primetime Emmy Awards

Discovery Communications has received 16 Emmy® nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmy® Awards, announced by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Nominations for Discovery Communications include 14 for Discovery Channel and two for Animal Planet.

The channel's series, LIFE led with six nominations including Outstanding Nonfiction Series. More than four years in the making, LIFE is the definitive exploration of the adaptability and diversity of life on earth, revealing the most spectacular, bizarre and fascinating behaviours that living things have devised in order to thrive.

LIFE was also nominated in the following categories: Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming; Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming; Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming; Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Programming (Single Or Multi-Camera) and Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy® Award winners will be announced on Sunday, August 29.
