Discovery’s DSport bags telecast rights of The Open golf tournament

DSport, the premium sports channel from Discovery Communications India, has acquired long term India broadcast rights of ‘The Open’, golf’s oldest and most prestigious tournament. The Open is one of the four major championships in professional golf. 

DSport will telecast live The 146th Open, set to get underway on July 20, 2017, at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. This includes 9 hours of Live and exclusive coverage on day 1 & 2, while 6 hours on the final two days. 

Indian stars Anirban Lahiri and Shiv Kapur will be among several legends and other top stars of world golf vying for the coveted Claret Jug.

The Live and exclusive broadcast will be in two phases across the four days of The Open. 

DSport is focused on bringing over 4,000 hours of live sports content from around the world to audiences in India. The channel’s wide portfolio of live sports content includes the best of Wrestling, football, cycling, horse-racing, golf, Tennis, motorsports, and extreme sports from around the world, including Tour de France, Six Nations Rugby, the prestigious British Open in golf and Chinese Super League football, among others.
