Disney promotes Kristen Finney to curate foreign content

Walt Disney Company (DIS.N) said on Wednesday that Kristen Finney will manage content curation for the media conglomerate's foreign division, which is attempting to create more localised content for streaming.

Finney will serve as an executive vice president to develop a team to analyse and assess "content demands and suitability for Disney+ and Star/Star+," the firm stated in a statement.

Rebecca Campbell, the chair of Disney's worldwide content and operations department, will report to Finney. "Kristen has a track record of developing effective content strategy," said Campbell. This knowledge, along with her ability to establish and lead creative teams, makes her the ideal choice for this critical new position," Campbell said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The regional teams at IC&O are creating a genuinely amazing slate of engaging and entertaining content," Finney noted.

Rebecca Campbell, who took over as head of the international content and operations department in January, is in charge.

The hub was established to support the expansion of Disney+, Hulu, and Star+ as Disney increased its investment in local content, matching Netflix's (NFLX.O) approach.
