DNA goes digital-only from today; shuts down print editions

Diligent Media Corporation Ltd (DMCL) has announced that its English language daily newspaper, DNA, is moving to a digital-only format with immediate effect. The print publication of the Mumbai and Ahmedabad editions have ceased to be effective from today, October 10, 2019. 

In a release issued, DMCL said that the decision has been taken by the company in order to optimise cost and reduce the losses. The steps taken by the company is to further sharpen the news platform and enhance its offerings keeping the audiences’ consumption patterns in mind. 

The company will also launch the DNA mobile application soon with a higher focus on video based original content. Daily News & Analysis continues to be available at www.dnaindia.com

DMCL further said that DNA is an integral part of its news media offering and added that the company has “always invested immense time, resources and energy in enriching it as a news platform, making it relevant and immensely informative for its readers, and will continue to do so”. 

It also added, “Over the last few months, DNA has grown multi-fold in the digital space, and will continue to be the preferred news destination as a web portal.”
