Doordarshan appoints Tauquir Zaidi as Head, Network Sales
Doordarshan, the 55 year old pub caster, recently rolled out a full-fledged professional Advertising and Sales team. With an aim to boost advertising revenue by applying newer advertising strategies, Tauquir Zaidi has been appointed to head the Network Sales team. He will be based at Doordarshan’s Delhi office.
With a vast experience of more than 17 years in Advertising Sales, in groups like STAR, NDTV and Times Television, Zaidi at his new role at Doordarshan will help in developing creative approaches towards sales and customer service.
Tauquir Zaidi says “Most of us have grown watching DD and the programs are still fresh in our minds. Serials like Buniyad, Mahabharat, Humlog, Nukkad and so many others are still a cult of this industry. This is the only organization that believes in “Finite Fiction” without falling into the trap of TVTs. Today all GECs start a fiction without planning its end /climax. The length of the serial depends on the ratings it gets, which does no justice to the story. Call of the hour is to put an effective strategy and recruit right team to implement those strategies.”
Zaidi’s top priority task is to develop a promotional strategy which shall help the business identify its core target markets thereby setting measurable goals to multiply revenue. He opines that it’s vital for the success of the organization to implement a well-thought marketing plan that aim towards growth of the organization by providing feasible solutions to the clients. “Working with DD is a huge opportunity and I eagerly look forward to this assignment” he adds.
