Doordarshan to live telecast National Conference on 'Women Legislators: Building of Resurgent India'

Ahead of International Women’s Day, a National Conference of ‘Women Legislators: Building of Resurgent India’ is scheduled to be held on 5th and 6th March, 2016 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference will deliberate on the ways in which women legislators can play a more meaningful and effective role in nation building. It will be attended by women members of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Vidhan Parishads and the Vidhan Sabhas from across the country. Top dignitaries of the country are expected to attend the historic event. The Conference will focus on three broad themes during the two days- Social Development, Economic Development; and Good Governance and Legislation.

Doordarshan, the public broadcaster of India will telecast the event live on both the days. Hon’ble President of India and Lok Sabha Speaker will be the Chief Guest in the Inaugural Function to be held on 05.03.2016 (Saturday) at 11.00 am. DD National will telecast the event live from 11.00 am to 11.45 am (or till the end) on 05.03.2016 (Saturday).

The valedictory session will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister at 12.30 pm on 06.03.2016 (Sunday) at Central Hall, Parliament House. DD Bharati will telecast the event live on 06.03.2016 (Sunday) from 12.30 pm to 02.30 pm.
