Dr. Vijay Mallya's UB Group first flight to SA

UB Group is a conglomerate of different companies with a major focus on the brewery (beer) and alcoholic beverages industry.

As per media reports, the group believes that World Cup will be a strong branding prospect to grab global attention.

In fact, it is not UB's first foray into South Africa as the company had last year sold Kingfisher by virtue of its IPL sponsorship. Then, it had tied up with local bottlers to produce beer in South Africa itself to reduce logistic costs.

UB Group still plans to work with the same bottlers in its latest South African Safari.
