Durgesh Kaushik quits Snapchat

According to a media source, Durgesh Kaushik has moved on as managing director, India and South Asia business development from Snapchat.

As temporary Head, Lakshya Malu, the company's marketing development manager, will take over.

Kaushik joined Snap Inc (parent company of Snapchat) as head of India market development in April 2019. Kaushik has previously worked with firms such as Dunzo, Edureka, and Facebook, to mention a few.

Lakshya Malu commented on Kaushik leaving, said, “Snap’s localisation and engagement efforts in India over the past years have been well received across our community, advertising partners and creators. Durgesh helped build this foundation and we are excited to continue our growth momentum with our new Indian colleagues."

As part of its growing focus on India, Snap Inc, the parent company of ephemeral messaging service Snapchat, has made major hiring for its growth, advertising partnerships, and augmented reality (AR) teams.

Gaurav Jain, the former head of India growth at Facebook parent Meta, has joined Snap as the company's head of Asia Pacific business expansion, where he will supervise the company's partner and direct sales teams. By providing solutions to brands, agencies, and sales partners, Jain is responsible for generating revenue development.

Former Meta and ByteDance executives Aishwarya Rao and Vikash Pandey have joined Snap as global business growth leads, while former ByteDance executive Sachit Prakash has been promoted to global business expansion associate. They will be in charge of dealing with major advertisers in India.
