Ecom-Gaming tops list of Categories present in IPL 15: TAM Sports

One of the two new franchise teams in Indian Premier League (IPL) 15, Gujarat Titans has won its maiden IPL trophy in its first year with the tournament. The team, captained by Hardik Pandya defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to lift the IPL 2022 trophy.

Advertiser sentiment and presence increased during the play-off stage of the tournament. As per TAM Sports data, when comparing League matches from each season, the average ad volume per channel per match showed an increase of 8% during IPL 15 over IPL 14. While the 1st play-off of IPL 15 had 11% more advertising volumes compared to the 1st play-off of IPL 14.

Meanwhile, the count of Categories, Advertisers and Brands were almost similar in the 1st play-off of IPL 14 and IPL 15, showing a marginal dip in this year’s IPL.

Ecom-Gaming topped the list of categories present in IPL 15, while it ranked 2nd during IPL 14.

Till the 1st Play-off, the Top 5 categories’ list had 4 categories from the ‘E-commerce’ Sector, with 32% share of the Ad Volumes in IPL 15.

The Top 5 categories together had nearly 40% share of the Ad Volumes in IPL 15. While Top 5 categories had accounted for 36% share of the ad volumes in IPL 14.

Sporta Technologies, Think & Learn and K P Pan Foods were the 3 common advertisers among the Top 5 advertisers during IPL 15 and IPL 14. The Top 5 Advertisers contributed 24% share of the Ad Volumes during 71 matches of IPL 15.
