EFFIE 2011: Gearing up for the awards night; Partners with Marico, Times Television & Brand Equity as sponsors

In 2001, The Advertising Club Bombay was choosen as the first asian partner to run the EFFIEs in this part of the world by EFFIEs New York. The EFFIE Awards is an International awards from New York.

Within eleven years the EFFIEs have become the most coveted awards of its kind in India. It is by far the only award that recognizes what has worked at the market place and how advertising has contributed towards building of a brand. The Effie is the only award that is given to honour how well advertising has impacted the success of the brand at the market place. Further it is also the only award that is given to the Agency and also to the Client.

The EFFIEs introduces a profound change in the concept of advertising awards. Awards is no longer be just a celebration of the craft of advertising, but a solid acknowledgement of the agency's power to build brands.

This year the Ad Club after consulting the industry thought leaders has introduced the following new categories/changes at EFFIEs 2011.

· Electronic Goods has been added as an additional sub category under Consumer Durables,

· Internet & Mobile Advertising has been clubbed as Digital Advertising (Online / Mobile Communications)

The EFFIE judging process is split into two rounds - Round 1 scores are for short listing and Round II scores are for deciding the metals. The jury panel has presence of some of the best known names from the marketing fraternity and Account planners from the Advertising Agencies. The judging process is conducted in conformity with the Rules and Regulations laid down by EFFIEs New York.

The Round I judging at Mumbai was held on 22nd & 23rd November, 2011 and had presence of some top notch Clients and Account Planners. The first day was graced by 19 judges and on the second day we had 21 judges.

The Ad Club Bombay for the first time organized a judging sesion of five categories of Round I at Delhi at Trident Gurgaon on 29th November, 2011 with a view to engage the solid client base in Delhi and use their vital experience at the EFFIE Judging process and also to spread the network of Ad Club to the major metros and make it truly a national Club. The Panel comprised of 20 Jury members.

The Final Round of Judging will happen on 7th December, 2011 at Mayfair Rooms, Worli, Mumbai. This round will be represented by the heavy weights from Marketing and Advertising fraternity

The glittering EFFIE Awards ceremony that has attendance of 900 professionals from Advertising, Marketing, Media, PR & Research fraternity is scheduled for Wednesday, 14th December, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Royal Western India Turf Club, Enclosure II, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai.
