EFFIE 2013: Lowe Lintas gets Agency of the year; Client of the year is HUL

What could be a better start than this to the New Year 2014! Effie 2013, organized by The Advertising Club, took place on 17th January 2014 at the Taj Lands End where the entire media and advertising industry’s hard work was awarded and honored once again. There were surprises galore as the winners were announced making the event a memorable one. Hoots, fireworks, fun and frolic reigned throughout the evening at the venue.

Lowe Lintas & Partners took away the much coveted Agency of the Year Effie 2013 for Lifebuoy’s Help A Child reach 5 campaign.  Ogilvy & Mather India, that was consecutively taking ‘The agency of the year’ Effie since the last 4 years, was awarded the ‘Grand Effie’ this year for Lifebuoy Roti campaign which was executed during the Kumbh Mela. Effie Client of the Year award went to Hindustan Unilever. Out of 177 shortlisted case studies, total of 71 awards were given for their successful and impactful work in marketing and advertising space.

While Lowe Lintas & Partners that bagged 160 points won 16 awards including 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze Effies; Ogilvy & Mather bagged 130 points with a total of 14 awards including a Grand Effie, 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze Effies.

McCann Worldgroup stood third with 60 points adding one Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze trophies in their kitty. At the fourth position was JWT with 40 points including 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Publicis, at number 5, bagged 35 points with 3 Silver and a Bronze. Grey Worldwide India, at number 6, took home a Gold, Silver and Bronze and made 30 points and last but not the least DDB Mudra and Contract Advertising won 20 points each.

BBH Communications, BBDO India, ABP One, Creativeland Asia, Happy Creative Services, ibs, Global Team Ford, Leo Burnett, Interface Communications, Marico Limited and SohoSquare Advertising & Marketing Communications include the other winners at the Effie Awards 2013.

177 out of the 419 entries received were shortlisted by The Advertising Club this year. Ogilvy & Mather was in the lead while, Lowe Lintas was in second place and  McCann Worldgroup trailed in the third place among the selected entries.
