Ek Tha Tiger shot in the exquisite locales of Ireland

Ek Tha Tiger, the latest movie from the Yash Raj Films stable, starring Bollywood’s most celebrated actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, has been filmed extensively in the exquisite locales of Ireland. The movie also signals the emergence of Ireland as a preferred shooting destination for Bollywood. A family film, the movie is expected to do extremely well at the box office, leading trade analysts predicts.
 
An important part of the movie has been shot in Dublin, which is portrayed as a modern and vibrant city, rich in history and culture. The movie has been shot at some of the unique and famous locationsof Dublin,such as -Trinity College; Temple Bar; Ha penny Bridge; along the Liffey river; Millennium Bridge; Grafton Street; The Luis Tram; Stephens Green Shopping Centre; Hodges & Figgis Book Store; Dublin Castle; Wicklow Street; Porterhouse Bar; Olympia & Gaiety Theatres; Harcourt street; Central Hotel; the Shelbourne Hotel ; and Ormond Quay.

With this in mind, we have invested substantially to promote the film and raise awareness of Ireland as a location for Bollywood films. Tourism Ireland has also worked closely with the Irish Film Board to attract and facilitate film-making in Ireland.”
 
Mr. Kabir Khan, director, Ek Tha Tiger, says, “Ireland was a rewarding experience for us. The locations were very exquisite and we also wanted to shoot the movie at a location which was hitherto untouched by Bollywood. Tourism Ireland and the Irish Film Board helped us tremendously in identifying the appropriate locales which not only added romanticism to the movie, but also helped us maintain our cost of production which is important for the success of any movie.”
 
The movie was shot in September 2011 in Ireland and will be released in 24 countries worldwide on 15th August 2012, reaching to an audience of over 100 million people.
