Elon Musk announces new CEO for Twitter

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and tech visionary, has announced that he has found a new CEO for Twitter. While Musk did not reveal the identity of the new CEO in his announcement, The Wall Street Journal has reported that Linda Yaccarino, the Head of Advertising at NBCUniversal, is in talks for the position.
In his tweet, Musk stated that he will be transitioning from his role as CEO of the social media giant to serve as its executive chair and chief technology officer, leaving the reins of the company in the hands of the new CEO. The new CEO is expected to take on the role in approximately six weeks, according to Musk.
Musk acquired Twitter last October for a staggering $44 billion, and quickly took charge as CEO, letting go of the previous CEO Parag Agrawal and other top executives, as well as laying off half of the social network's staff. Musk has since overhauled Twitter, such as the introduction of Twitter Blue subscription and the removal of old "legacy" verified checkmarks.
In appointing a new CEO, Musk is likely seeking to alleviate concerns from investors in his other venture, Tesla, who worry that his focus on Twitter is detracting from his duties as CEO of the electric car company. The news of a new CEO for Twitter has already resulted in a surge in Tesla's share price.
All eyes are now on the identity of the new Twitter CEO, and how they will shape the future of the platform under the leadership of Musk as executive chair and CTO.
