Empire season 2 returns to FX SD & FX HD with its spring premiere episode this Sunday, April 3rd at 10:00 PM

Having taken television audiences by storm in its record-setting first season, Empire returned with even bigger Season 2. From its jaw-dropping story-lines to its chart-topping hip-hop soundtrack, Empire instantly gained a legion of die-hard fans, creating social media frenzy and making “Cookie” a household name. After a brief hiatus, the hit musical drama series is all set to make its return to FX SD & FX HD on Sunday, April 3rd at 10:00 PM.

The series revolves around Lyon family dynasty and is set within a world of music, glamour, danger and power! From being conceptualised around the music industry to actually taking over the music industry, Empire came a long way and has become not only the first ever TV show whose original soundtrack topped the Billboard chart but also a nomination at the prestigious Grammy Awards. The show has also been nominated in the following categories at the Golden Globes – Best Television Series – Drama and Taraji P. Henson for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama.

The series will pick up right where the midseason finale left off as a double-crossed Lucious fights to regain control of his company. After losing the company he built, Lucious announces he will stop at nothing to regain his power, but Cookie has her own way of handling things. Meanwhile, Rhonda, Andre and the rest of the Lyon family come to terms with a horrific, life-changing tragedy that changes their lives as they know it.

Empire stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones and Serayah McNeill. In addition to the regular cast, the series has featured guest appearances by a wide range of talented performers, including Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Marisa Tomei, Naomi Campbell, Ludacris, Adam Rodriguez, Vivica A. Fox, Rosie O’ Donnell and Andre Royo.
