EMVIES'12: New categories introduced

EMVIES- 2012 India’s most prestigious and coveted Media Award event is round the corner! It is the greatest breakthrough innovation in the Indian media which recognizes and awards most outstanding media initiatives that have happened in the last year. This annual event has had a very active and enthusiastic support from the media fraternity along with media marketers and  clients.
 
It is now in its 12th successful year. The background of this event dates back to the year 2001 when the Managing Committee came up with the thought of recognizing and honouring outstanding work done by the media fraternity on an annual basis. Initially it was a part of of the India Advertising Festival but since the past nine years it is organized as a stand-alone event and has become one of the most coveted media award functions of the industry. It is an important brand/property of the Ad Club along with the EFFIE’s, ABBY’s, M.Ad Quiz, AdReview, Media Review and Young Achiever’s Awards.
 
This year the EMVIEs Committee at the Ad Club in consultation with the media industry thought leaders have introduced the following new categories/changes at EMVIEs 2012:   
 
The three new categories are Media Client of the Year, Best Ongoing Media Campaign & Young EMVIE of the Year
 
Also added as sub categories under Best Media Innovation–Digital is Display & Video  
 
ZoOm, India’s No. 1 Bollywood channel, too has introduced a special award category in the 12th edition of the EMVIES. The special award titled “Best Use of a Bollywood Celebrity in Media” will be given to an entry that uniquely showcases or integrates a Bollywood celebrity in media, creating impact and is relevant to the brand’s communication.  
 
Since its inception in 2001, Adclub’s EMVIES  has received a whopping 734 entries this year which is an all time high record. All these entries will be judged digitally. Round one will see the participation of 105 top notch media professionals. The Ad Club has organized for laptops and the headphones for the convenience of all jury members.
 
The Advertising Club Bombay EMVIES will be held on Monday, 3rd September, 2012 at the Ball Room, Hotel Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai at 6.30 pm.  The event will be followed by Cocktails & Dinner.  The EMVIEs awards ceremony is attended by more than 1000 media enthusiasts who are also the who’s who of the media world.  
 
The judging procedure for Round one will take place from 7th August, 2012 to 9th August, 2012 at Mayfair rooms. The final round of judging is scheduled for 23rd to 25th August, 2012 at the Welingkar Institute of Management, Matunga, Mumbai. 
 
The presenting sponsor of the event is Times Television Network and the category sponsors are DNA, Yahoo India and Aditya Birla.
