End of an Era, Saroj Khan Passes away at 71
Saroj Khan, a veteran National Award winning Bollywood choreographer passed away at the age of 71 in Mumbai on 3rd July, 2020 due to cardiac arrest. She was the most renowned choreographer, known for her lyrical choreography for over 2000 songs.
Saroj Khan made her debut in choreography with Geeta Mera Naam, and got recognition after she choreographed Sridevi’s Hawa Hawai song(1987). She worked with Sridevi in films like Nagina and Chandni. This was followed by her long-term partnership with Madhuri Dixit in the 1990s in songs like Ek Do Teen, Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, and Tamma Tamma”. Her last choreography was for Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Tabaah Ho Gaye’ from Kalank.
Khan has also judged dance reality shows like Nach Baliye, Ustaadon Ka Ustaad, Boogie Woogie and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Entire Bollywood was taken aback due to this news on Friday morning. They took it to social media with heartfelt posts.
