Discussing about trends in the Indian e-market Ashish explained, “As the industry prepares for the epic growth, its need for knowledge and best practices becomes even more essential. We are looking to provide a one stop knowledge solution to the industry in the form of an online media platform, a monthly publication, an events/workshops platforms as well as independent research reports on the industry.”

Path breaking discussions were held on various components of the industry; technology, operations, marketing, government policies. There are detailed workshops for retailers, entrepreneurs and start-ups. The expo has also arranged most comprehensive workshops on technology, online marketing, logistics, distributions, operations  and funding as well as industry specific workshops for fashion and jewellery retailers which has helped in focusing towards the benefits of e-distribution. It also focused on methods  which  help in leveraging a level playing ground for both domestic/international companies for marketing their products specially in the rural areas.
Ashish is of the opinion that the growth of e-commerce business has slowed down, but has not affected companies much. “I am hoping that by the middle of this year the growth will fairly raise,” he said.

Indian e-commerce market is expected to mature in 3-5 years according to Indian experts. In comparison to  international markets , India is still in a premature phase. In India marketers compete with each other in the same area, whereas mature marketers compete with mixed players from different fields.

Speakers at the Expo discussed the most essential needs in marketing and they consider customer service to be a very important aspect . For an e-commerce platform the only way to reach out to customers is through the online medium.  Hence the business becomes customer centric since they are attracted only to the best customer service offered to them.
