In conversation with Adgully, Evelyn Sharma spoke about her rising career, her upcoming projects, her philosophy on life, her preferences in her personal life and career and more.

For Sharma year 2013 has been a fantastic year when she could not have asked for more. “Personally and of course career wise with Nautanki Saala and Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani last year was a total hit!” she shares. Now she looks forward to her new releases in 2014.  “Yaariyan, Main Tera Hero and Bhaiyajii Superhitt are releasing soon and I am working on other films as well!  Besides that I have some more exciting news to tell soon and of course the best news is that I'm adopting a little kitty!,”  she says excitedly.

It is a known fact that it always helps to have a godfather to make it big in Bollywood.  Sharma who is half-German and half-Indian struggled initially to find a foothold in Bollywood  but her efforts paid off and she emerged successful in her endeavours. “Getting into Bollywood isn't as easy as it may seem. There are ups and downs and struggles and success. I guess hard work and an extra portion of luck is the recipe,” she avers.

With just a year in Bollywood she has embarked on an exciting career and already has her bag full of projects. Recounting her experience of the year gone by she says, “Every experience in life is to learn something from it, and believe me, I've learned a lot in the last year!”

'Yaariyan' is a story of close knit 5 friends who are exploring the best moments of their lives in college, experiencing different relationships and learning new values every day. Yaariyan is about different characters, their bonding, their friendship, their problems, their fun, their mistakes, their relations. It is about their yaariyan during good and bad, thick and thin. Yaariyan is about all your firsts in life i.e. first love, first challenge, first outbursts, first strong bonds of friendships.

Sharma elaborated on her character she plays in Yaariyan, Divya Khosla Kumar’s directorial debut. The film with a big cast centers around a college based romance where the lead character, the beautiful Jeanette experiences her first kiss, first love, first fight, and a series of firsts of almost of everything!

Evelyn Sharma is the first foreign actress to have bagged so many projects in such a short span of her foray into the industry. “I'm grateful and loving every moment of it!” is her reaction when asked how the taste of success has made a difference in her career. She considers it a wonderful experience working with the focused director who wanted to give her very best for her first movie.

She cherishes her experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawani hai Deewani. In this regard she says, “Working with Ranbir was a dream and I'd love to do it all over again!  She expresses her desire to work with various talented people in the industry. Presently she is shooting with Varun Dhawan who in her opinion is a fantastic and an amazing dancer!

Sharma has set her priorities right and there are no two ways about her choice of career. Though her career took off as a model, acting has always been her first preference. For her it has been God, her mother and her best friend who have been the biggest influence on the choices that she has opted for in life. To the versatile actress goes the credit of having done more than a hundred ramp shows in India. But inspite of this her focus remains on her career in movies which according to her allows her to indulge in both modeling and acting.

On the personal front we find the bubbly and vivacious Evelyn Sharma has a compassionate streak wherein she considers it important to help others and hence supports various charities. Sharma philosophizes, “I think the most important thing in life is to realize that everything is temporary and that everyone of us is part of this universe in equal amounts. It's like we're all leaves but belong to the same tree. Be kind to one another because your root is the same.”

How different is Evelyn Sharma in real and reel life? They are vastly different. In her reel life She is bubbly, perky, fun, and everything her director wants to see in the character while in real life she prefers to be at home, eat pizza and watch movies with her friends.

Sharma updates us on the projects that she is handling presently and her other short term plans. “I'm working on MTH and Bhaiyajii Superhitt, plus there are some more projects in the pipeline. Short term plans would include a vacation at the Maldives,” signs off an exuberant Sharma.
