PIX is ushering in the Movie Of The Year with the Television Premiere of ‘The Adventures Of Tin Tin: The Secret Of The Unicorn.’
 
The film has been directed by the well known and brilliant director Steven Spielberg who has several blockbusters to his credit. Through this movie one can see Belgian artist Herge’s endearing characters come alive. They are led by Tin Tin and his fourlegged companion Snowy on a globe trotting adventure
 
The source of the film originates from the well known comic books viz. The Secret of the Unicorn, Red Rackham’s Treasure and The Crab with the Golden Claws. TinTin’s fans  can look forward and dive into  a fascinating journey through his adventures of treasure hunts and undercover investigations. Sony PIX is all set to premiere ‘The Adventures Of Tin Tin: The Secret Of The Unicorn’ on Sunday 16th September 2012 at 12:00pm & 9:00 pm
 
The story in the animated movie revolves around Tin Tin, a reporter who travels around the world with his canine friend Snowy. Tin Tin is always in search of adventure and invariably ends up in dangerous situations. He and his dog Snowy share a deep bond and are inseparable! Tin Tin also has a friend in Captain Archibald Haddock. Being one of his trusted allies he accompanies and assists him in his quest for victory.
 
There are several  interesting  facts about Tin Tin  which is not known to most of his fans. The comic book has been translated into over 100 languages, clearly depicting its popularity. The character of Tin Tin was created by a Belgian artist Georges Remi popularly known as Herge. Following Herge’s death in 1983 Steven Spielberg acquired the rights to produce the film based on the world famous comic and this is his first animated film.
 
Another interesting fact to note is that Tin Tin is known by different names in different parts of the globe. In German he is Tim, in Turkish he is called Tenten and in Latin he is known as Titinus.
 
The film has won the Golden Globe Award for the Best Animated Picture.
 
Himmat Butalia, Marketing Head, Sony PIX spoke to Adgully about the forthcoming premiere on PIX. He spoke about their marketing plans, partners and promotional activites to make the premiere a huge success and this is what he had to say: “On the  marketing front it is a 360 degree marketing plan. There is also a digital push to it with our ‘First Watch India’ campaign. PIX has done an innovative engagement with YouTube to promote the television premiere of the movie. 
 
Himmat also adds, “With this movie we are trying to target two sets of audiences. One is kids and the other being ‘the others in the family’. The adult audience viz. parents have been reading the Tin Tin comic books since their childhood but for kids of the present generation he is a new character. Hence watching ‘The Adventures of Tin Tin’ will be a great new experience  and hold more excitement for them. Keeping this in mind the movie is being aired at 12:00 pm for the younger generation and the 9:00 pm slot will cater to the grownups.” 
 
PIX actively engages with its audience in India through several innovative and interactive touch points.  They have also undertaken ground activation campaigns in colleges called Treasure Hunt to promote the movie. Totally 15 colleges in Mumbai have participated in this event.
 
Himmat also elaborated on the various promotional activities PIX has undertaken with regard to the premiere. Some of them being the Comic Con Fest held at Bangalore during the weekend with whom they partnered. They have also partnered with Crossword at Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata and Spencers in Mumbai. Malls like Inorbit and Nirmal Lifestyle too will contribute to build curiosity and create an engagement platform for the movie. The channel is holding the ‘TinTin Contest” an on air contest which will be promoted by on air promos. The contest will be pertaining to the film and the winners of this contest will get an opportunity to visit Studios Herge in Brussels. Studios Hergé is a not-for-profit organization based in Brussels, the birthplace of the creator of Tintin. India’s first frozen yogurt chain Cocoberry too has patnered with PIX for the event.
 
Another innovative promotional campaign includes regular radio spots where  RJ’s will create hype for the movie and its characters to build up it’s publicity.
 
On an end note Himmat said,”We have not left any stone unturned to promote the premiere of the movie and we have partnered with high profile brands to build an engagement for Tin Tin. As much as possible has been done to create hype and curiosity round the movie ‘The Adventures Of Tin Tin : The Secret Of The Unicorn’.”
 
Now courage has a new name –Tin Tin.  Be prepared to dive into his wonderous adventures which he braves with his companion Snowy.  It will take you through a journey of mystery, adventure and intrigue.
