Sony PIX, English movie channel, has always been active in producing innovative initiatives specifically on the digital radar. This time around, the channel has launched one more interesting online app: Sony PIX Poster Maker.

 

The app is fairly simple and user friendly and has been put up on the channel's website and Facebook page.

 

When Adgully inquisitively spoke to Himmat Butalia, Marketing Head, Sony PIX regarding the thought and rationale behind the whole initiative, he said, “Digital being one of the most important and active medium these days, it is one innovative and interactive medium which would have a lot of impact. The app is simple and people would love it.”

 

When asked what a brand like Sony Pix would benefit out of such an initiative, Butalia felt that at the end of the day we have to be market and communicate with consumers and with this step definitely both, brand and the product would benefit. He says, “Apart from being a movie channel we enable our consumers to interact with us and understand what Pix stands for.”

 

This app would enable them to make posters of the movies they like. When asked about the investment, he smartly said that there is investment of time and that is what matters not money.

 

In terms of responses, he told us that the responses have been really nice up-till now. Butalia further added, “In just one day we have got more that 250 posters on the app. Word of mouth is most important according to us.” What he meant by that, was numbers and traction is not important but what matters is the fact that people are talking about it.

 

The poster gives a chance to choose from wide range of backgrounds and characters they have in some simple and easy steps.
