Exclusive | We want to be a one stop shop, says KartRocket's Goel

Technology has simplified everything for consumers; they have now shifted their focus towards the online portals. More and more population now has online transactions for all their needs making competition very crucial. E- Commerce is playing a crucial role in the current business scenario.

With people becoming more acquainted with the online portals, e-commerce is taking over the real market by storm. In today’s world it is through websites that the work is simplified and is giving convenience to the end user. It also provides people with enough and endless option to make the right choice. Since the consumer always wants the best out of everything and as per the convenience, e-commerce seems to be reaching new heights every day.

The consumer nowadays is shifting from the real world to the virtual world. He practically does everything online. With that happening the Ecommerce industry has seen a drastic change in the last couple of years is going to grow like anything in the Indian market. Seeing this trend, businesses are ensuring that they have a presence online.

While the big companies can afford setting up their online portals with a lot of creativity, small portals face major brunt. KartRocket is one of such organization which provides a platform to such businesses and other startups to mark their presence in the industry.

To get more insights on the same Adgully caught up with Saahil Goel, Co-Founder and CEO of KartRocket.

In a thirst to create an opportunity for business online, this company has a model which will help the consumer and entrepreneurs to build their business online. Speaking on the same Goel says, “KartRocket is an e-commerce enablement platform which aims to simplify online selling for Indian SMEs by providing end-to-end e-commerce enablement on a subscription model. With KartRocket, small businesses can now launch a web and mobile ready online store, engage in multichannel e-tailing, get hassle free integrated payment gateway and powerful shipping carrier integrations all in a single easy to use dashboard. With more than 200 dynamic features, KartRocket is the only Indian company that is taking care of every e-commerce need of the client to sell and grow their business online.”

With very few players in the market, this company is soon going to be aggressively. Goel adds, “There are presently 3 or 4 serious players in the ecommerce enablement market – with a lot of web development companies and agencies in the un-organized segment. KartRocket with its full end to end service offering wants to be a market leader in the e-commerce enablement space. We already have strong solutions in the web and mobile storefront, logistics and payment integration space. We’re coming up with great products on the cataloging, discovery and multi-channel etailing front. We want to become the one stop shop solution for any merchant who wants to go online in India.”

Most of the companies plan expansion in the country and this one is no different. Commenting on the same Goel says, “We’re seeing a lot of interest from SMEs and MSMSEs in the last few months owing to the explosion of B2C ecommerce led by large marketplaces. Eventually India is a long tail market – both on the buyer and seller side. We see enough demand originating for niche and un-standardized products and hence the supply will follow. We’re simply trying to marry the two. We’re currently adding customers at the rate of 10% per month and think this number will go up to 25%.”

Marketing in the Indian scenario is not so easy for international marketers, but when it comes to domestic companies, they do know their market well. Speaking on their strategy Goel says, “We rely heavily on content marketing and inbound leads generation. Since there is a growing awareness in the market about ecommerce, a lot of sellers look for information online on how to start. We try to provide information that is very relevant to our audiences – that, in turn, tells them about us.”

The company intends to use a digital media mix, focusing primarily on organic methods such as search optimization, social media and content marketing.

“We notice a lot of pure-play online retailers or online-only brands approaching us to start their venture. We’re also seeing a lot of smaller and boutique offline merchants now wanting a commerce-enabled website so they can accept payments and ship orders to their existing offline customers,” adds Goel.

In the companies opinion there is a huge potential in the Indian market, especially in the smaller and home based businesses in India. He adds, “They carry their own set of challenges.”

The portal is not only restricted the tier 1 towns. The company also plans to expand to tier two and tier three cities. Goel said we are planning to sign up resellers spread across India. These will be companies that already cater to web development needs of a certain region.

Apart from that the company also plans to go rural and they’re trying to partner with some NGO’s to take this forward. Indeed it is a great initiative that the organization is taking. By Archit Ambekar | Twitter: @aambarchit
