Facebook announce launch of Cloud Gaming

We all know about the massive rise gaming has seen in 2020. Taking advantage of this fact and also that gaming has seen increased traction on Facebook, the social media giant has announced a new set of cloud streamed games which will enable Android and Web users to play games without downloads.

In a blog post, Facebook explained Cloud Gaming -

"Today we’re announcing that Facebook Gaming has launched several cloud-streamed games in the Facebook app and on browser - playable instantly, with no downloads required. Cloud game streaming promises to deliver unprecedented access to games across every screen. And while we’re thrilled to play a part in that future, that future is a ways off."

Facebook are still in talks with Apple over the availability of games within the iOS Facebook Gaming App.

Facebook spoke about the new cloud games in their blogpost and said, "Our first set of games available this week include Asphalt 9: Legends by Gameloft; Mobile Legends: Adventure by Moonton; PGA TOUR Golf Shootout by Concrete Software, Inc.; Solitaire: Arthur’s Tale by Qublix Games; and WWE SuperCard by 2K. In the coming weeks we’ll add Dirt Bike Unchained by Red Bull, and we’ll continue to test new experiences and expand the games library in number, type, and genre."

Cloud gaming will definitely increase user engagement on the platform as it enables users to start gaming straight away with any downloads.

Facebook also added a playable ad type for developers to promote their games which will again boost engagement.

Facebook's cloud games are available in the US for now, with more regions to follow.
